The Dixon Petunia Festival is a great and important time in Dixon. It brings thousands of people to town for the four-day event.
Many people are able to enjoy plenty of outdoor activities. However, being outdoors in the forecasted heat you may need to protect yourself.
Dixon City Fire Chief Ryan Buskohl said his and the Rural Fire Departments are ready. He said both departments would have their ambulances at specific events and places.
Buskohl said it is very important that you drink plenty of water. This would be best to hydrate yourself. He stated you might want to hydrate yourself a great deal the night before.
Some of the events would still be in shady areas. Buskohl said even in shade it could be hot and you need to drink water. He also warned the people in things such as the Reagan Run and even the parade on Sunday.
