All good things must come to an end and for Sauk Valley Community College President Dr. David Hellmich, it has been a good 11-years.
Recently, it was announced Dr. Hellmich is retiring. Dr. Hellmich said it is time for him to retire; however, it is bittersweet since he is doing somethings for the last time.
Hellmich said he is most proud of how the school came together during the budget impasse and during Covid 19. He is most proud of the culture at the college. Hellmich said they care about the vision and mission of the college.
During his tenure, the school has seen Facility Improvements, New Programming and the Impact Program. Hellmich has another ten months and he said after that, he and his wife plan to move closer to the grandkids.
