The Sterling Fire Department is going through some changes in leadership. Recently, David Northcutt was chosen to be the new Fire Chief. Another position they are trying to fill is Deputy Chief.
During the most recent Sterling City County meeting, the members were told they have narrowed the candidates to two. They also spoke of the changes of the 911 system now being totally at the Whiteside County Sheriff’s office in Morrison.
The fire Department said they have to work out some problems to get things working smoothly. This being due to the fire department having a slightly different system. However, the Fire Department said minor glitches are expected.
