Boys Golf
Rockford Jefferson Invitational (Small Team Division)
The Dixon Dukes took first place, on Saturday, in the small team division at the Annual Rockford Jefferson Invitational. The format for this Invitational is a 2-man best ball format. Dixon’s Gunner Kastner and Daniel Fordham finished in 8th place while Max Kitzman and Brody Nicklaus took 9th place for the Dukes. The Dixon Dukes will be in action on Tuesday against Freeport and Rochelle.
Byron Tigers Shootout
The Oregon boys came in 4th at the Byron Tiger Shootout with a 172. Jackson Messenger tied for 4th with a 39, and Nole Campos tied for 6th with a 40. The Invite was shortened to nine holes due to the heat.
Girls Golf
Belvidere Invitational
Several area teams kicked off their girl’s golf season, on Friday, at the Belvidere Invite. Rockford Lutheran won the Invite. The Crusaders Madelyn Bennett finished in 2nd place overall with an 81. the Byron Tigers finished in 2nd place at Timber Pointe. Sterling finished in 3rd place as a team. The Golden Warriors were led by Toni Martinez who shot an 89, good enough for 10th place. The shorthanded Dixon Duchesses shot a 438 on the Invite. The Duchesses were led by Reese Dambman who shot a 92.
Eastland Invitational
The Byron Tigers played their 2nd Invitational of the weekend on Saturday at Lake Carroll. The Tigers won the Eastland Invitational. The Oregon Lady Hawks took 2nd place at the Eastland Invitational at Lake Carroll with a 231. Sarah Eckardt and Aniyah Sarver tied for 4th with a pair of 50s. The Invite was shortened to nine holes due to the heat.
