Dixon Park District Seeking to Find a Way to Build a New Shelter at Page Park

The work at the construction of the pedestrian bridge continues.  This has also sparked ideas and work on other projects associated with it.

During the Dixon Park District Board meeting Wednesday night, Executive Director Duane Long sought to get the feelings of the council concerning the attempt for a grant.  This would be for a new shelter at Page Park.

Besides the grant, Long said if there are any business that would like to donate to have naming rights, give him a call.

The District would be seeking an Open Space Land Acquisition and Development, or OSLAD Grant to pay for the shelter.  The shelter is described as a mirror image of the shelter at the Water Wonderland, but bigger.  It would have working restrooms and a seating area.  Long said they might install a small playground.

The Board approved and the District has until the end of September to apply for the grant.  If all goes well, they would build it next year.
